Free Windows Phone Dev. Training

You don’t get much for free these days. Except that sometimes you do. Getting training on things computing is often a horribly expensive business. But now and then you get some astonishing offers. Nokia and Microsoft have teamed up to set up some training days in London which are free to developers with an interest in Windows Phone development. There is one this Saturday, and another on the 11th May. Click on the dates to find our more and register.
I know they are going to be high quality because Andy Wigley is doing the training. If you have coding smarts and a good idea for an app, but have never written for Windows Phone, then you should go along and get some great insights into mobile development. Tell them I sent you.

I went to the first of these in London April 2011. About twenty developers in a worn down Hotel suite. We got a Curry and Apple Crumble. All rather plasant. But I was the only XNA literate WP developer there, as Andy was more interested in on device database and data bindings. Got a Free Phone for a later syubmission follwiog this event. So overall rather nice and interesting.
Anyhow went a year later, 100 or so develoeprs ina rather souless, cold Shoreditch developer centre. Doggy Bag lunches. Seemed to be rather tedious UI style guides, withno XNA or Games deveopment But I did win a Free phone in a raffle.
Not sure that I will bother again, I can't be lucky enough to win another phone. And there will still not be any XNA for WP8 :( So I would expect more flipping style guides and font size ramp advice. Anyhow Nokia are hassling me to imporve and prmote my old XNA games, So i had betetr get back to wotk on that.
