Lumia 800 Battery Life Tips

When I first got my Lumia 800 I did some tweaks to improve battery life. I’ve just passed them on to a fellow owner, and they helped for him too, and so I thought I’d blog them (mainly so I don’t forget myself)
I turned off “Synchronise game requests” on the Game settings and “Notify me when new networks are found” from the WiFi settings. I also set “Download new content” to 30 minutes on both my email inboxes. I configured the Kindle application to display text as white on a black background, this makes a big difference to the consumption on the OLED display.
With these settings, which don’t cause me any inconvenience at all I can get a day of use out of the phone with enough left to limp through a second day on battery saver mode if I forget to charge the phone overnight.

I got the opportunity to try a Lumia 800 for three weeks, and I should admit that I didn't manage to get a full day of use without charging it (with the latest firmware)... Though your tips may have helped I think :)
On the other hand when I handed the device back to the Try & Like It people, I have been told that the devices used for this operation were relatively old... Which is pitiful since we were supposed to show the phone :)
But I am still wondering if Nokia/MS could not have improved the thing. While using it for 2 hours to shoot pictures (with WiFi and Bluetooth OFF), the Lumia800 only lasted 2 to 3 hours, after a full charge.
but thanks Rob for your tips i hope it will help :)
I guess I must just be a light phone user.
Looking at the spec, the only thing the Lumia hasn't got that my HD2 has is the ability to use the phone as a wifi router for my laptop using the phone's data contract ... but then with only 500MB per month I don't use it that much anyway!
