Get Portal 2

I’ve spent a reasonable amount of time over the last few days watching number one son play Portal 2. I quite like watching other people play video games. Whenever I play most of my time is spent being dead or otherwise inconvenienced. Number one son does not seem to have these problems, although in Portal the nice thing is that you are not actually under threat of sudden death most of the time. Unless you do something stupid in one of the puzzles that is of course. And there are a lot of puzzles. Along with the sing-song voice of the psychotic computer and another computer who also records adverts for a bank and works with Ricky Gervais. Or something.
The game is really good. Really good. So good I might just invest in a copy myself. Apparently if you get the PS3 version you also get a token allowing you to download a copy for your PC or Mac, which is nice.
I think it helps if you have played the previous version first, you can pick that up as part of the wonderful “Orange Box” compilation for most platforms.

Its best to pick up the pc version of the orange box as its cheaper and games like tf2 will be updated constantly. Valve gave up on updating the 360 version of the orange box as the size of the update was too big for a normal 360 update (which is limited in size). They could've updated it through a DLC pack but Valve would want the update to go out for free and Microsoft have a policy about how much free content can be put up on Xbox Live from one developer. Apparently they need to put up a certain amount of paid for dlc to put up free content.
TL:DR version; Get the PC version of the orange box, runs on most modern PC's (high or low spec) and its updated constantly.
The PS3 version of Portal 2 was developed in house and it seems to be the definitive console version of Portal 2 as it features cloud saving so if you start playing it on any console/PC/Mac it will sync your save. It also features your steam friends list etc. It could lead to more source games appearing on PS3 or even the steam store which could be interesting.
