Thought for the Dazed

I've had to give up that Distance Learning course as I was having trouble seeing the teacher.

.NET Gadgeteer Fun and Games

Gadgeteer Spider

I love getting parcels in the post. Particularly if they contain things like a complete set of .NET Gadgeteer devices and interfaces. There are loads of interface devices, including touch screens, GPS sensors, barometers, thermometers, gyroscopes, moisture sensors and even a thing that which looks like it will measure my heartbeat.

The potential for fitting things together and doing great things with them is wonder, wonder, wonderful. I’m going to take them home for Christmas and see what we can build. I foresee a return of the Blog Controlled Christmas Lights.

This does look very cool! But it's a rather expensive hobby at £150 a board! >.<

It will be interesting to see what you make anyhow Rob =)

@Daniel - check out the USD $70 Hydra Mainboard, coming early in the new Year!

Also, the £150 Fez Spider product is a full kit. It has the mainboard and a bunch of modules like a 3.5" touchscreen display, camera, USB Host, SD card, smart programmable LEDs, and more. It provides quite a bit of value for the cost.

Kerry got me a kit a couple weeks ago, and I was able to quickly get an RFID reader working with it by just using one of the ports directly and writing a controller class. Way easier to use one of the Gadgeteer modules, but not at all hard to integrate other devices if you've got them.

Hi Rob,

I just got my FEZ Spider Kit on wednesday. Got some basic functions to work, using the VS2010 C# with the Net.Gadgeteer applcation form GHI. Now, looking on the net to see how i can use my components, i cant find much. The examples in the GET STARTED docs i find, arent working om my Hardware..... How are you getting along ? Are you a Pro, sothat you can find the right documentation easily, or also strugling to get the info... can you advise me wich documentation to use ?

hope to get your reaction soon

regards from Holland.

Hi. I'm just getting to the point where I can spend some quality time with the Gadget hardware. Expect some posts soon.
