Yorkestra
Sunday, June 21, 2009 at 09:59PM Tonight we went to see number one daughter play in the York Concert Orchestra. I went because I have an innate love of culture and music and also because she said they were playing the Muppets theme music. Which they did, very well. There is nothing quite like an orchestra going at it with a good head of steam and they sounded great. I took the big camera and took some snaps during the noisier bits.
I will give an enormous prize to the first person to tell me what tune they are playing…

The Sorcerers Apprentice?
By the power of deduction I'm going to suggest Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring Symphonic Suite. For the following reasons, the conductor narrows it down to a choice of three, it appears from the position of my head and the silverness in front of my face that I am playing bass clarinet, ruling out one of those three and the fact that the other first clarinetists have not moved to play saxes rules out the muppets leaving only LOTR!
And I'm afraid that you agreed to the terms and conditions just by looking at the picture....
On the other hand, I'll get a signed copy of my book through to you. Although I'm not sure if this counts as a prize......
