Thought for the Dazed

I've had to give up that Distance Learning course as I was having trouble seeing the teacher.

Windows 7 Beta Download

Note to self. Always use the US mirror to download future Windows 7 Betas. Everyone in Europe is awake and downloading like mad at the moment, which is why it is going to take me 9 hours to get the image down. Whereas in the US they are all asleep at the moment and it always seems to go faster from there anyway.

Oo, which build are you getting? Or is it the RC? I've actually just removed Windows 7 beta (Build 7000) from my PC as there were a few annoying bugs (mainly graphics related), and because I just love to format. I'm running Windows Server 2008 Standard as a workstation now and it runs beautifully! (apart from the fact that I had to *aquire* a 'business' version of NOD32 to install. My 'personal' edition license still works to update the definitions though).

I installed the RC yesterday onto my machine. I have two 500GB hard drives running in RAID. I am currently running Vista Business edition on them. I ended up shrinking the volume on my RAID partition to install Win 7 in a dual boot mode. Unfortunately, after installing Win 7, I only managed to boot to Win 7 once.

After verifying the install was working, I went off to my Vista install and did some class work for school. Later on I decided to check out Win 7 and put it through its paces. Unfortunately, the installation now just BSOD's and continuously reboots my machine if I choose it from the boot options.

I should note I am running the x64 versions of both Vista Business and Win 7. I am a little uncertain now exactly what to do in order to rectify this other than attempting to reinstall Win 7 again.....
