Thought for the Dazed

I've had to give up that Distance Learning course as I was having trouble seeing the teacher.

Carry on Cleo

Watched a carry on film this afternoon. The Carry On team took on the Anthony and Cleopatra tale. It has one of the best lines of all time:

Caesar: (being pursued by an angry mob) "Infamy, infamy, they've all got it in for me.."

Wonderful.

I wondered where that quote originated. I read a parody in one of those revision books that was sadly not as good, but for your benefit.

"Indices, indices, the fish all live in the seas".

Shame I can remember that useless quote from 3 years gone and not the stuff necessary for exams. I blame my short term memory loss.

Acording to wikipedia the line was not originally from Talbot Rothwell (who wrote the screenplay for many Carry On films), but came from Frank Muir and Dennis Norden who were very active scriptwriters in the sixties.
