Thought for the Dazed

I've had to give up that Distance Learning course as I was having trouble seeing the teacher.

VAX T Shirt

Saw this T-shirt today. I really, really want one:

2445390829

For some reason known only to Primark they've used a system diagram which includes PDP and VAX computers and all kinds of things that I used to manage (RD54 disks anyone) as the logo. I sooo want one of these in XL. I just hope they are not only kids sizes (and that you can still get them).

Does Visual C# have GDI+ like VB?

Or would I end up opting for C# and going for making my own images, like you and that annoying piece of cheese! HAHAHA!

I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve. You can write a playable game in any language (although C++ will give you greater performance at the expense of being harder to write).

You can use GDI+ from C# or VB .NET. It is just a bunch of wrapper classes around the windows code.

If you are writing a game for fun I'd certainly go the C# route as it is less painful. VB .NET is around as easy to use, but I'm from a C background so I prefer C#.

Well, when I get that book. I can look at an example and learn from that. It has games with it.

Your tutorials might not be for me....

Hey Rob, for which platform did you buy GTA4?

I want to write one program, which is a game for my windows mobile device.

I want it to work on Wm 2003, 5, 6, and 7 when released.

It should work.

I am using VB, I now have the VS 2008 trial pro.

It'll expire for me on 23 July 2008.

So I have until then to produce my small program in a 1980's file size. For my pocket pc.

Using the GDI+ if possible for the pocket pc, and in general done for the pocket pc.

There is no material on what I want to do it was either nagging Mr. Miles. It's like talking to my tutor at college, haha...well not quite.

Or use a book which Rob, helped by pointing me to that direction. Unfortunately he doesn't know about VB / GDI+ stuff!

In the days ahead, when that book reaches my hands, I'll see whether it'll help or not. Um...I'm a little anxious after not doing well at college especially at programming for various reasons. Um, I have been wanting to do this for such a long time.

A GDI+ VB game 2D.!!!!!!

Over a year....!!!!

Thanks reading my essay, it'll be on your desk soon Mr. Miles!

Um, Rob would you know how someone would program for palm?
May 1, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRichard
You can program for palm devices using Actionscript. The language is very similar to C# so easy to pick up. Flash files run smoothly on all palm devices, just remember however that only mouse controls work since they are replaced by the stylus.

I do presume by palm device you mean, hand-held pc ?

Yes, pocket computers.

So is this action script free? Anything for programming for pocket computers needs to be free for me...
May 2, 2008 | Unregistered CommenterRichard
I'm afraid not, although it is through the SEPY actionscript editor.
