Chance Question

If a person thinks something is unlikely they'll say "Fat chance". Or "Slim chance". Why?

Slim chace is a literal exclamation, whereas Fat Chance is used more in a 'Big deal!' sense. ie Big Deal! is generally used to describe a small deal.

We called our boxer dog Chance and get to use phrases such as 'no chance', 'fat chance', 'not a chance in hell'... we all find it funny anyway.

Thanks folks.

If I ever get a dog I'm going to call it Kick (as in Kick the dog). And the cat will be called Swing.....
