Thought for the Dazed

I've had to give up that Distance Learning course as I was having trouble seeing the teacher.

Roman Holiday

Last week I bought a new camera. I really shouldn't have. But this was a real bargain and so I liquidated all my ebay assets and sallied forth to Currys to make the purchase. I wanted the camera because it has a very long zoom lens.

So today we went off to Sewerby Park, where they were doing some Roman re-enactments. And out came the camera...

Yep. That's right. Very good camera too. Not quite the same resolution as my Finepix F10, but more useful because you can use the zoom to fill the frame with the picture. And it has the FujiChrome image processing option which makes the pictures jump off the screen.

Get down to Maplins in Hull and pick up a battery charger for 5 quicd and four 2.5 amp hour rechargeable AA cells for 7.50 to power your new toy.

I nearly went for a compact but this was a lot more camera for the money if you want to do clever photography things (which is the plan!). And it looks cool hehe. Sadly I moved from Hull after I finished the compsci degree and am in terminally expensive Surrey! Luckily I got a Charger with 4 2ah batteries for 7 qui off play and a further 4 pack of 2.5 ones for about a fiver. Still waiting for my XD card though, 1gig for 30quid online or 80 quid at Dixons! lol. I'll be posting some pics after the weekend when i intend to go snapping.

I have it on good authority (from a photography buff with a ridiculously expensive camera!) that 6 Mega Pixels is the most any non-pro will need, you can only fit so many pixels in a standard size photo.

Anyway, good to see that a seasoned Gadget Buyer bought the same one as me, means I am in the right area lol! Do you own a DS Lite yet though? In terms of addiction it is the crack cocaine of gaming.
