Thought for the Dazed

I've had to give up that Distance Learning course as I was having trouble seeing the teacher.

Car Hire Conundrum

I drove home in a hire car tonight. Very nice Vauxhall with a diesel engine and a rev counter. I was driving along at 60 miles an hour in top gear and the rev counter showed 2000 rpm. I was wondering if I had enough information to work out the speed I would be travelling at if the rev counter showed 3000.

C# Yellow Book Around the World

I've been very surprised (and pleased) by the way that people seem to have picked up on my C# Yellow Book (which you can get for free here). I've had over 3,000 downloads in the last month, which is rather nice.

If I search for it I find loads of sites offering reviews, including this one which I hope is saying nice things...

EMB207 Putting Your Big Ideas onto Tiny Devices with .NET

Plenty of toys....

Well, the presentation has been and gone. Thanks so much to everyone who turned up and gave me such a good audience. And a special call-out for the tech support guys who let me set up my toys last night and leave them in the room, still working.

I've put all the sample code here, so if you really do want to make a set of Christmas tree lights that flash red when you make a blog post (and who doesn't) then you can download my code and get started.

Ready to go. Note Fairy lights....

I promised some links during the presentation:

You can find out more about the framework here.

The Dare to Dream Different contest is here.

Channel 9 Guy Saves the Day

I was packing my "super secret and now working" hardware for travel to TechEd 2008. Like all highly advanced and high performance hardware it is actually very sensitive, and I needed something small and foam to pack it safely into the case.

It just so happened that while I was at PDC I was given a small foam "Channel 9 Guy".....
